These days it is very hard to find original 60's instruments. Especially drum kits as the pieces have been separated and lost over the years. For this reason, many Beatles tribute bands around the world use modern drums and have them re-covered in a wrap to vaguely resemble the Ludwig "Black Oyster Pearl" finish used by Ringo.

However, attention to detail is what separates The Melbeats from other Beatles tributes. Our Ringo, plays an original 1966 Ludwig, Black Oyster Pearl kit. (No modern aluminium snare drums or heavy duty stands here!) Even the original "rail style" tom mount is intact on the bass drum. Ringo uses vintage Zildjian Custom A series, 20" Ride and 18" Crash (both on vintage flat base cymbal stands) and 14" Hi-hats on matching 1960's Ludwig Hi-hat stand , just as Ringo used.

And just to prove how far we go to keep things authentic, Lee even uses (Pro Mark) Ringo Starr signature series drum sticks!
